Ryan Portelli, a game developer from Malta, has achieved a remarkable feat by winning a Gold Award in the NYX Game Awards held in New York, USA. Portelli’s hard work, determination and passion for game development has earned him this prestigious award.

Portelli’s winning entry was The Backrooms 1998, a PC Game in the Horror category which earned him a remarkable 2nd place against tough competition from industry giants such as The Callisto Protocol, Evil West, and Smite. Despite being a small player in the gaming industry, Portelli’s creation has been recognized among other popular titles made by established game developer companies.
