According to reports, Need For Speed Unbound will debut on December 2, 2022, with a formal announcement coming in the first few days of October. A two- to three-minute clip with a A$AP Rocky song is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Insider Gaming broke the revelation, and they also claim that the prior leaks of anime aspects would be represented by smoke and flames shooting out of the car when it drifts, leaps, and crashes.
Also verified by Insider Gaming is that the future game will only be available on current-gen consoles. Being current-gen only could be important if it really is photo-realistic because there’s a significant probability that outdated technology will slow it down.
This launch date is quite similar to the April leak’s November release timeframe. That information was disclosed by insider Jeff Grubb, while Tom Henderson provided the most recent update. It’s quite likely that a new Need for Speed game will be released by Christmas thanks to two insiders with solid track records.
Back in August, some footage that appeared to be from Need For Speed Unbound emerged, giving us a preview of the anime-inspired components of the game. The screen glitched when a car missed a jump and slammed into something, becoming crimson for a few frames before some sketched wings came from the car and broke. This means the new game is different from Need For Speed Shift, the series’ more simulator-like entry, and is more of an arcade racer.
