In order to pay tribute to the late motorsports legend Ken Block, Forza Horizon 5 is releasing additional in-game content. The renowned rally driver passed away earlier this month at the age of 55 after being involved in a snowmobile accident close to his property in Woodland, Utah.
In addition to being a legend of motorsport, Block was well-known among fans of racing games for his frequent partnerships with other developers. Among other titles, he appeared in three Codemasters Dirt games and the 2015 Need for Speed remake. His most recent video game endeavor, a multi-year cooperation with CSR Racing 2, which is currently regarded as one of the best mobile racing games ever created. Block’s Hoonigan cards had previously appeared in all Forza Horizon games released by Playground Games since FH3, as well as Forza Motorsport 7.
As part of a March series update for Forza Horizon 5, the British company will now pay tribute to the late motorsports legend with some free content. Fans will also receive the Hoonigan Ford “Hoonicorn” Mustang and a new player emblem in addition to cosmetics in the form of a Ken Block Racing Suit and an accompanying helmet. Along with a new Forza Link chat phrase, the upcoming feature drop will also include Ken Block-inspired Accolade objectives. The 2016 Hoonigan GYMKHANA 9 Ford Focus RS RX, a future Seasonal Championship prize for Forza Horizon 5, will also be made available in the March update.
