EVO 2023 lineup revealed, including Street Fighter 6 debut

The dates and matches for EVO 2023 have been announced with the highlight being Street Fighter 6’s debut. One of the most well-known competitions in esports is the Evolution Championship Series, usually referred to as EVO. Street Fighter 6 will take part in the thrilling competitions that draw spectators from all over the world this year.

The pandemic, which caused the cancellation of the 2020 Capcom Cup, affected a number of events, including EVO. While online competitions were held in 2021 as a precaution against the pandemic, last year’s participants had much to rejoice about. EVO revealed the eagerly anticipated return of the live event.

The event’s customary location, Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, will play host to EVO 2023 from August 4–6. All of the games that were on the schedule for EVO 2022 are returning this year, giving fans the chance to enjoy Guilty Gear Strive, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Tekken 7, King of Fighters 15, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, and Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate. The release of Street Fighter 6, which is also the official Capcom Pro Tour 2023 game, is something new for EVO 2023. Being a beloved game with roots in EVO’s past, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is also making a comeback.

Fans will also be paying close attention to EVO Japan. In 2018, the first EVO “spinoff” event took place, bringing the spectacular matches of its Western counterpart to Japan. Granblue Fantasy: Versus and Virtual Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown are two of the eight main games on the schedule for this year’s EVO Japan, which runs from March 31 to April 2. EVO Japan 2023 will launch the closed alpha test for Tekken 8, in addition to competitions and future game announcements.
