The next installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, has been formally confirmed by Ubisoft.
The statement made today precedes a more extensive revelation scheduled for the Ubisoft Forward show on September 10.
Although Ubisoft has not yet offered any other information about the game, an image that was released along with the announcement seems to validate rumors that it would take place in the Middle East. Additionally, according to those reports, you would be portraying Basim, a supporting character from Valhalla. Although the supposed protagonist in this picture is rather little, he does resemble Basim.
The announcement follows the leak of an artwork with the “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” logo on an image depicting a white-hooded figure staring down a shadowy form, wielding a curved sword.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage, also known as “Rift,” is the sequel to the Valhalla-themed game from 2020. Mirage will put Valhalla supporting character Basim Ibn Ishaq in the major position, have a more compact environment to explore, and emphasize stealth gameplay. Mirage is set in 9th-century Baghdad and was first intended as an extension to Valhalla.
According to Bloomberg writer Jason Schreier, who claimed that the game will release some time in spring 2023, many of these details have already been discovered. Now that we have our first look at Mirage thanks to the leaked image and Ubisoft’s official announcement tweet, even if it isn’t much just yet, it does at least appear distinctly Assassin’s Creed.
