Nominees for the 2023 Game Developers Choice Awards Announced

The candidates for the 2023 Game Developers Choice Awards have been revealed, and the top spots are taken by well-known names. Both the nominees and the winners are chosen by the ICAN, the International Choice Awards Network. Each person accepted into the group plays a key role in a different area of the gaming business. All nominees have been selected from games released in 2022.

The Game Developers Conference (GDC), which first convened in 1988 as a casual gathering, now includes the Game Developers Choice Awards. What began with 25 developers meeting in a living room to discuss video games has grown to include creators from all around the industry and is approaching its 37th edition. GDC has recently begun to incorporate the worlds of VR and AR in addition to consoles, mobile and handheld devices, tablets, web, and PC games.

Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, Immortality, Pentiment, Stray, and Tunic are the contenders for the Game of the Year honor at the Game Developers Choice Awards. Elden Ring and Stray, who each garnered six nominations, are in leading the charts. Following them are Pentiment with four nominations, which is in competition with God of War for Best Narrative, and God of War Ragnarok with five nominations, including one for Best Narrative. There will be an Audience Award, which will be chosen by all attendees of GDC who choose to cast a vote, in addition to the categories of Best Debut, Best Audio, Best Design, Best Narrative, Best Technology, Best Visual Art, Innovation Award, Social Impact Award, and Game of the Year.
