- PLAYCON’s decision regarding the marking scheme and winners chosen are final.
- By submitting the form, you will agree and give your irrevocable consent to allow (without compensation) any footage, photography or any media related imagery of the competition in any additional promotional materials including any of your own, to be used to promote the event.
- PLAYCON is a family friendly environment and has to adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the organisers. All costumes need to be tasteful, implied nudity or inappropriate attire is not considered adequate body coverage.
- While waiting for your turn on stage, please keep noise levels down, listen and follow instructions of all staff members.
- Under NO circumstances is anyone allowed to enter the restrooms or changing rooms of the opposite gender. Please use restrooms responsibly.
- Each individual is only allowed to participate in one category only.
- By participating in the Cosplay Competition you understand and give your consent to PLAYCON to use any photos in which you may appear (in full or in part) taken during this event by them or their official photographers to
be used for promotional purposes in both digital and physical formats relating to any future

- All entries must be able to get on and off the stage safely.
- Props: What goes on stage with you must come off stage with you. For safety reasons, things like confetti, fireworks, glitter, flash paper, flash pot, rose petals, water, fake blood (that might drip on stage) and other small messy objects are strictly forbidden to be brought into the stage. On stage, non-firing toy weapons will be allowed without peace bonding, but be aware that any “live”, sharp or dangerous weapons will be subject to a safety check at the entrance. No exceptions will be made.
- Food, animals or remote control devices are not allowed on stage.
- No items are to be thrown into the crowd, not even as an interaction. All replicas/props are to be listed and submitted along with the entry forms. Any Unlisted/potentially dangerous/harmful props will not be allowed in and must be handed to Playcon for safekeeping until either the end of the event and/or if the owner chooses to leave. PLAYCON reserves the right to bar the usage of any replicas/props that may seem potentially dangerous and/or harmful. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to withdraw the rights of participation and/or confiscate replicas/props should one be found to break any of the aforementioned rules/regulations. Behaving in a dangerous manner is not allowed at any time.
- PLAYCON is not to be held reliable for any form of injury during the course of the competition due to the applicant’s negligence.
- Cosmetics/Costumes/Tools/Props/Replicas made by Cosplayers themselves will result in additional points during the competition. Photos showing the prop and cosplay progress submitted with the application, would enhance the authenticity claim. Furthermore, applicants will need to specify on the application form which parts of the cosplay were hand-made/crafted by themselves and which were bought/second-hand. Any cosplays or parts of the cosplay created by third-party individuals/companies will need to be accredited accordingly.
- The Cosplay Competition is to be considered a PG-13 rated event.
- The cosplayers are expected to submit their performance music with the application using an MP3 format. It is recommended for applicants participating in the “Pose” section to upload an MP3 with the application beforehand otherwise no music will be played during the performance. Playcon will not be substituting or providing any other option with regards to music.
- Both cosplay and music chosen will be reviewed by PLAYCON and all violators will be contacted and informed regarding their violations. Any MP3 uploads must be family friendly, i.e does not include any curse words of any kind or in any language, offensive language, racial or sexual epithets. Mentioning any politics, local TV stations and sexual humour will not be allowed. This covers yaoi, yuri, mpreg, auto-erotica, tentacles, lolicon, etc.
- Both “Pose” and “Skit” performances must be a minimum of 1 minute and no longer than 4 minutes on stage. The time will start as soon as the music starts. By not abiding to the time limit provided, the applicant will face a deduction of points.
- The judgement of what is acceptable is left to the sole discretion of Playcon. If you have a question about your content, please feel free to ask the Playcon cosplay team if it is allowed.
- A catwalking opportunity will be offered to those who have not competed in the competition but would like to show off their cosplay on stage either way. The catwalk will consist of the entrance onto the stage, a short walk towards the judges, pose and then exiting the stage. Music will be provided by Playcon for the entirety of this segment.
- Cosplayers who are participating should at no point during the competition mention or publicize any affiliation association of any kind. Doing so will lead to an automatic disqualification.
- The official PLAYCON judges are the only official bodies that will be scoring the cosplayers and that will know the final scores. Results will be published on the same day some time after the cosplay competition concludes.
- Cosplayers are encouraged to participate in a healthy competitive state of mind. An ethical and correct behavior is to be expected before and after the cosplay competition. Cosplayers should show respect towards each other. No misconduct will be tolerated.
- PLAYCON reserves the right to disqualify any participant if they do not comply with the rules of the competition or they show unsporting or disrespectful behavior towards other participants and visitors, organisers and/or helpers.
- The registration form will need to be filled online by the 28th of November, 2023.
- Applications after the closing deadline will not be considered.
