For all Nintendo Switch systems throughout the world, version 15.0.0 of the system update is now accessible. After the release of version 14.1.2 on June 13, this firmware update is the first for the Nintendo Switch lineup in almost four months. A few updates and fixes are included in this new version to enhance and maintain system performance.
Version 2.0.0 was preinstalled on the Nintendo Switch when it was introduced in 2017. Since then, the console has received thirteen more significant upgrades, with a number of smaller updates, like the 14.1.2 update before it, interspersed between the main ones. The system typically releases significant upgrades four to seven months after the preceding version. For instance, the gap between version 14 and version 15 was seven months when version 14.0.0 was published in March.
On October 10, version 15.0.0, which mostly included under-the-hood improvements and quality-of-life enhancements for a few already-existing features, was quietly published. The Bluetooth Audio option has been moved to System Settings, according to the update notes on Nintendo’s website. Before, users had to access the Bluetooth Audio settings by scrolling to the bottom set of choices under Systems Settings. The Bluetooth Audio option is now positioned towards the top of the System Settings menu on the left. Furthermore, while utilizing the Nintendo Switch Online app from the console’s main menu, screenshots may now be captured with the Capture Button. The NSO app cannot be used to capture videos using this way, either. The notes explained that system stability and enhancements were implemented, like with all other upgrades, to provide the optimum experience.
However, more internal improvements were published with version 15.0.0, according to Twitter user OatmealDome. The Switch Pro Controller’s Bluetooth firmware was updated, the system’s Ethernet adapter handling procedure was changed, some language updates specific to Mainland China were made, text was added to comply with privacy laws in Australia and New Zealand, and some different error messages were changed and added, according to OatmealDome.
The upgrade arrives before Nintendo’s hectic Q4 2022 release schedule. Nintendo fans will have lots of games to play in the near future, including Bayonetta 3, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be available for Switch users to invest their time in by 2023.
