Skull and Bones – Release Date & More

Skull and Bones, a Ubisoft pirate adventure, initially appeared to never release. This open-world, open-sea epic was initially announced in 2017, but since then, creator Ubisoft has postponed it on many occasions. The project appeared to be completely abandoned by Ubisoft as fans grew more and more frustrated with the ongoing delays. Then, just when all appeared to be lost, Ubisoft released details on Skull & Bones, giving the game a release date, a fresh trailer, and a bit of an upgrade.

Skull and Bones release date of November 8th, 2022, was made public in July. While there are no promises that Skull & Bones will launch on this day, it’s the strongest proof we’ve had in the previous five years that the game does exist and will be given to a very patient audience.

What is Skull and Bones?

Based on the naval combat shown in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag from 2013, Skull & Bones is an open-world oceangoing adventure. The parallels between the two games can be seen in the most recent previews, although Ubisoft promises Skull & Bones will be much more of a stand-alone experience. Skull & Bones will provide an expansive, customizable open-world PvPvE experience on November 8 when it is scheduled to launch.

The online multiplayer game, which will include ten pirates divided into two teams of five, is the centerpiece of the Skull and Bones project. These teams will be hellbent on controlling the open sea. With “near infinite” possibilities, each pirate commander, or player, will be able to customize their ship. Early gameplay insights, however, indicate that while a player is exploring the wide ocean, they will do it solely from the ship’s helm and won’t be able to move about the boat.
