BlizzCon will return in 2023

Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced that BlizzCon is returning after a lengthy absence. World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch fans from all over the world have been able to interact, form friendships, and share their love of Blizzard games thanks to this event.

While BlizzCon hosted an online event in 2021, it was far less large than the yearly convention its guests were accustomed to. The final Starcraft 2 World Championship was held there, with Park “Dark” Ryung-woo being named the winner. The last traditional BlizzCon took place in2019, where Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 were notably unveiled.

Blizzard Entertainment President Mike Ybarra said earlier this year that the company was preparing for BlizzCon’s comeback in 2023 and has hired April McKee as the new head of its BlizzCon department. When the company’s official end-of-year update was published on December 21, McKee finally revealed his silence, even though Ybarra couldn’t at the moment affirm that BlizzCon will return in 2023.

With the BlizzCon 2023 now confirmed, details on the actual date, schedule, and connected events are expected around the beginning of 2023.
