Cloud9 win the 2022 LCS Championship, defeating 100 Thieves with a 3-0 victory

In advance of the LCS Championship finals game between Cloud9 and 100 Thieves, fireworks bathed the United Center in blue and red hues. C9 defeated their opponents in the lone sweep of the bracket despite being the fifth seed going into the finals and successfully winning their first LCS title since the 2021 Mid-Season Showdown.

For C9 in the LCS, this trophy signals the conclusion of a turbulent year that saw significant roster changes, coaching controversies, position swaps, and the comeback of some of the team’s most well-known players.

On the other hand, 100T keep up their winning record in all of their finals, including this year’s Spring Playoffs, their LCS triumph, and the 2018 Spring.

Following a back-and-forth series against Evil Geniuses, where they were finally successful in defeating the team that ended their playoff run in the Spring, 100T entered this rematch from the winner’s finals of the LCS Championship. Although 100T put all of their faith in Abbedagge and Closer and carried on with their successful Summer Split play to finish second in the regular season, one thing propelled them into their lower bracket run: Berserker.
