The first Commonwealth Esports Championships were hosted on the last weekend of the Games in Birmingham as a test to determine whether it could be included in the official Games.
Victoria 2026 organizers want to add three or four additional sports to the final schedule by the end of September. Currently, 16 sports have officially been confirmed for Victoria 2026.
We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Esports Federation which doesn’t stop after this Games. It’s a long-term commitment to learning, transferring knowledge.

In order to determine the potential future of esports at the Games, Ms. Sadleir stated that the CGF will undertake an independent study following the Birmingham event.
